10/2/2007 - Our Progress is your church growth

The web based version is coming along great!  We have released the people package a few weeks ago and we are planning on releasing the activity package very soon.  The financial package will be released at the end of October and then we will work on converting many of our current customers to this new version.   We appreciate your patience and understanding as we  undertake this huge project.  We are so dedicated to this short timeline that one of our engineers received tendonitis in both hands!  He took a week off and we are just about on track again.   During the last few weeks we have received a few specific items to be included in the web based version, we have tried to incorporate many of those items in this first release and have scheduled the rest to be in service packs coming shortly after.  Again, we thank you for your great suggestions!  They are helping other churches and their members grow in their relationship with Christ.

Just a reminder!  The Soul Management pricing has been changed to reflect this new browser-based version. All existing churches can change their support costs to the updated numbers if you desire.

Support

We will be revamping our website to include a software roadmap and the ability for you to submit your own feature requests. This new website will be available mid-November. Many of you have been asking about future improvements and fixes and this software roadmap will tell you the answers.  It will include when the service packs will be released and what the service packs will include.  Along with this update we will be revamping many other areas of our website.  If you have any recommendations of what you would like on our website, like a community forum or FAQ section, let us know now and we will do our best to serve you and your church!   Regarding the software support, we have had very low calls and are happy to report smooth sailing and happy customers! Tips and Tricks
  • Did you know that Soul Management is converted into English, Spanish, Portuguese and French?  If you have a multilingual staff, Soul Management can support these three languages per system user and can be converted to most other languages upon request.
  • If you want to search for a member that has 'son' in the last name like 'Johnson' or 'Harrison' place a '%' in front of the 'son' like '%son'.
  • If you have monthly support and would like to see a report in a graphical representation or see a custom report just for your church you can call us and we'll do it for you for free!

 

 

 



9/4/2007 - People Package Released
We are happy to announce that the Browser-based People Package is complete and has been released.  If you are looking for the people package only, we can set you up with the online people package for the web-based price on the Order page.  If you currently have the Membership package or Starter Package and would like to change over to the Browser-Based People package then please wait till we have the rest of the packages available and we will start on our conversion process.   We will be updating our online demo version to be using the browser-based version soon.

1/19/2007 - Service Pack 2.2

More financial updates!  We are continuing to make this product the easiest Church Management Software to use with your help.  Service Pack 2.2 includes:

  • Added 4 Contribution Letters with different report formatting
  • Added a family list report
  • Added default paycheck, payment, contribution and bank accounts for easier fund accounting
  • Added default additions and deductions for quicker employee payroll setup and maintenance
  • Moved the Quick Contribution Screen to the top of the Accounts menu for easier access
  • Fixed more bugs and oddities with your help!
  • Many more minor improvements and changes...

12/1/2006 - Service Pack 2.1
Service Pack 2.1 has been released.  This version includes a few more performance upgrades, a church directory in landscape format and several bugs that were found in the release of v2.0.  The download can be found at www.Soul-Management.com/Support/Downloads.aspx.  We are very happy with your feedback with 2.0 and invite you to continue to give your suggestions and bug reports.  God Bless!


10/18/2006 - Version 2.0 is now available!
 We have just released version 2.0!  This version has been created with new technology that will make the installation of Soul Management much easier.  Below is the complete list of additions and changes.

Features Added:

  • More denomination specific versions
  • Ability to install demo data and then revert back to your denominational specific database
  • Labels are now easier to find with their own Navigational page instead of under the Recipients button.
  • Added a Bank Reconciliation Report
  • Added an Income Report
  • Added an Expense Report
  • Created an Activity and Account drop down box when you select those fields in either the Mail - Member Selection Field or the Report - Data Selection Field

Areas Changed:

  • Increased performance dramatically throughout Soul Management .  These changes were brought about by upgrading to .Net 2.0 and to a different database.
  • Changed
  • Labels will now use the Family Display name if there is a value, otherwise it will use the head of the household's name
  • Changed the General Ledger to be cleaner/crisper, added a grand total to the banking section and ordered the accounts by ID under the account types
  • Changed the contribution letter report to allow you to input your own custom message at the bottom of the report
  • Fixed the Birthdays to be able to sort numerically on reports

We are always improving Soul Management, in both features and usability!  Keep those suggestions coming! Upgrading to version 2.0 is available to everyone, we will be in contact with our customers shortly about the upgrade process.



7/12/2006 - We are listening! Service Pack 1.3.1...

Annoucing another service pack loaded with feature requests and suggestions from you! 

Features Added:

  • Family Display Name so you can address labels and letters to a family instead of individuals
  • Reports can now be secured within the security groups
  • Activities now have associated tasks or a to-do list
  • Members, Activities and Employees have an additional screen for printable ID Cards
  • A Family ID has been added so you can group families by the ID instead of the last name on reports
  • Vendors can now have contributions
  • Added the ability to create vendors from a payment screen
  • Added the ability to create members from the quick contribution screen
  • Added the ability to create a payment from multiple expense accounts
  • Added more financial reports (Bank, Expense and Income Reports)
  • Job and Activity tasks can now be due before or after the event, not just on the event date

Areas Changed:

  • Accounts can now have monthly budgets, instead of a yearly budget
  • Activity Attendance screen now has the ability to show photo's and now has a comments area per attendee
  • Accounts can now be grouped within 4 levels, previously there were only 3 levels (Category, Type, Group, Name)
  • Attendance sheet will now populate the dates
  • Members Contributions screen changed to be Financials, with more than just contributions
  • Vendor Payments screen changed to be Financials, with more than just payments
  • Employee Paycheck screen changed to be Financials, with more than just paychecks
  • Bank Transactions screen changed so you can add all types of transactions
  • All Transaction/Financial screens changed to show YTD transactions instead of the current month

4/21/2006 - Service Pack 1.3 Released!

A new service pack is avaiable that is packed full of new functionality!  This service pack has been requested by many churches and they are now seeing their dreams fullfilled.  Version 1.3 is the introduction of a very comprehensive Master Calendar.  This Master Calender includes your church activities, meetings, appointments, employee time off, personal reminders, and church jobs and tasks.  See below for a complete list of what is included in service pack 1.3:

  • Added a master calendar in several different parts of Soul Management
  • Added the ability to add multiple locations to an activity
  • Added the ability to reserve inventory items or equipment for an activity
  • Added the ability to create jobs for a system user
  • Added the ability to have multiple tasks for a job each can be assigned to different system users
  • Added job and task templates for one time jobs and tasks the church does often like weddings and funerals
  • Added a reminder form that will popup for the activities you are enrolled in, your jobs and tasks, your employee time off and your personal appointments.
  • Added the ability to link a system user to an employee
  • Add custom icons for each Menu Button
  • Split the System Menu into My Profile, My Church and Security for clarity
  • Removed the Web Menu, will be visible again when the functionality is available
  • Improved the member search screen for performance
  • Fixed report bugs dealing with bank transfers
  • Fixed account ID bugs related to non-numeric account IDs
  • Fixed the new account balance error when creating a new account while another account is in context
  • Update help files

2/15/2006 - Put March 31st on your calendar!

Coming March 31st 2006 Service Pack 1.3!  Service Pack 1.3 will include a Project Management/Task Based Event Calendar.  Many churches are very excited about the new functionality and have given us great idea's and suggestions to make this addition fit their needs. This calendar will be integrated into many different aspects of the software, but will be considered as a part of the Activity Package.  See the attached documentation for the complete list of features.  Calendar Feature.pdf



2/7/2006 - Service Pack 1.2.2

Service pack 1.2.2 is now available!  It includes a few minor items that you have been asking for and we were happy to get back to you quickly!  Some of the included changes are:

  • The Show In Directory option on the member level instead of the family level
  • Updated Attendance Sheet, so you can have empty rows at the bottom of the sheet
  • Updated Church Directory, so it wraps nicely, and you can customize it to be landscape or portrait
  • Scrolling on large detail pages so nothing gets cut off from your view
  • Export to excel button on all lists
  • More financial transactions
  • Added Removed date and Dedication date to the members detail screen
  • Improved the Quick Contribution screen
  • And many more minor adjustments...

12/1/2005 - Financial Service Pack v1.2.1

Welcome to December!  We have had 2 feet of snow in the past 2 days and are literally stuck at work trying to get this service pack ready.  We promised to have this service pack out by the end of the year, and we are happy to release it on time and ready for your approval!  This service pack, v1.2.1, has mostly financial changes but here is the complete list of what it includes:

  • Changed license key file to be more secure (you will need to re-register)
  • Added more transaction types to accounting (cash, deposit, interest and fee)
  • Streamlined the transactions per account type
  • Changed quick contributions to be able to handle multiple account destinations
  • Linked the bank deposits to contributions
  • Added the Account Summary report
  • Added the Budget report
  • Added the Contribution to Deposit report
  • Added the End of Year Contribution report

10/6/2005 - v1.2 Reviews
Version 1.2 came out a week late, due to our strenuous testing schedule but the results have been great! The software is more stable than ever and our customers love the Nazarene specific package.  You can download the 45 day trial version on our downloads page.  Version 1.2 has made available the ability to host your Soul Management Server online.  Several churches have been interested in this and we appreciate their patience while we developed and tested our online capabilities.  This feature is now ready with the additional feature of hosting your website too. 


7/13/2005 - Service Pack 1.2 Announcement

3/16/2005 - Service Pack 0.8 is Released

The long awaited service pack 0.9 has been released. This service pack includes most of the financial funcationality including check printing and tithe tracking. If you did not receive this service pack please download it here. If you have installed a client on a different machine than the server, you will also need this service pack "Service Pack For Client 0.9".



2/8/2005 - Service Pack 0.8 is Released

1/8/2005 - The First Beta is released

11/9/2004 - The Release Schedule has been Announced

The official schedule has been released for Soul Management. the first Beta will be available on CD after January 7th, 2005. Release version 1.0 will be available on CD in the spring of 2005!



9/17/2004 - Reviews from the Nazarene Tech Conference

Wow, what a conference. It was exciting to see so many people that have a passion to teach, share, or learn about how we can better use technology in Nazarene Churches. Many churches became very interested in Soul Management. Many churches are eagerly waiting for the beta version available in January. We also received many good ideas to add to our product! Thanks for the great weekend everybody.



9/3/2004 - The First Demo of Soul Management

The first demo was a success! Church staff and other viewers were blown away by the easy-to-use navigation and functionality included in the members area.



8/9/2004 - Breaking Ground on Soul Management

The initial requirement gathering for Soul Managment is now done. Today was the first day to start coding! The team is excited and ready to start seeing results.
